State Bound Wrestlers 2010

Four Austintown Middle School student athletes, along with one alternate qualified for the Ohio Junior High State wrestling tournament to be held March 20th & 21st in Marion, Ohio. All wrestlers qualified by placing at the Steubanville District wrestling tournament.

At 78 lbs., 6th grader Alex Mackall with a record of 54 wins and 5 losses recently placed 3rd at the Ohio youth wrestling state championships and finished 3rd at the Jr. High District qualifier. Luke Peterson 132 lbs., 8th grader, goes to state with a 34 and 4 record with a recent 2nd place finish at the Federal League tournament, 1st place finish at EOWL, and a 2nd place finish at the district tournament. At 154 lbs. Camran Rezapourian, 8th grader goes to state with a 37 and 1 record. Camran finished 1st place at Federal League tournament, EOWL, and districts. He is looking forward to making State Championship his fourth. Also in the 8th grade, Tony Behanna 164 lbs., finished his season with a 35 and 5 record. Tony placed 2nd at the Federal League Tournament, 1st at EOWL, and 6th at the district tournament. Qualifying for state as an alternate is 8th grader Taylor Balog. Taylor, 146 lbs., has a 31-11 record and placed 4th at the Federal League tournament, 5th at EOWL, and 7th at the district tournament.
